Appalachian Backstory

Mountain laurel grows thick and low along Appalachian creeks, clawing its way out over the water. Under those shadows is where crawfish learn to survive. Tight rocks. Cold current. Nowhere to run.

As kids, we’d flip stones in those laurel-choked bends just to watch them scatter—claws up, tail kicking, disappearing back into cracks no lure could ever reach. That defensive posture is burned into memory.
